Educational Topic: Tax Cuts and Jobs Act

The passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) in December 2017—the most comprehensive tax legislation in more than 30 years—will have far-reaching impact. Join us for a discussion on the new tax law and its effects on realtors, real estate investors and appraisers, including how many small-business owners will begin to rethink their operations.


Terrence Moore, Esq.

Terrence Moore, Esq., is an Orange County tax attorney, licensed in California and Florida, with more than 26 years of experience in dealing with IRS officers on a daily basis. He represents taxpayers before the United States Tax Court, IRS, California Board of Equalization, EDD, Federal and State Courts. He provides criminal and civil tax fraud defense, as well as protecting and providing services for his corporate clients in civil matters. Terrence earned his undergraduate degree at Azusa Pacific University, his law degree at Southwestern University School of Law and an LL.M. in Taxation at the Boston University School of Law.

Sy Pearlman

Sy Pearlman is a full-time lecturer at California State University, Long Beach. He is a Certified Public Accountant and has a law degree. Sy is a retired partner of EY and also owned his own tax practice. Sy serves as chairman of the audit committee of the JCC in Irvine, California, and also serves on the investment and finance committees of the Orange County Jewish Community Foundation. He is an advisory board member of Integrity Wealth Management and is a member of Archangels, an angel investor group. Sy is married with three sons and four grandchildren. He and his wife enjoy traveling to interesting places to learn about different cultures.

Julie McCutcheon, CPA, EA

Julie McCutcheon is a CPA licensed in Utah as well as an IRS Enrolled Agent. Her firm is located in Draper, Utah, and about half of her clients are either realtors or own investment properties. She bought her first property at 22 as a single woman, then later converted it to a rental during a recession. She has always actively managed her own investment properties. She especially enjoys working on partnership returns for real estate holdings and coaching new real estate investors on proper record-keeping.
